footprint café/bundanon

As part of this course we participated in a design camp at bundanon, part of Arthur Boyd’s properties on the south coast of NSW

The design brief asked us to
- design a cafe. It was to be created using basic materials such as cardboard, foam, wood etc
- must fit into the bundadnon environment and its surroundings.
- was to fit into a larger bundanon model

The materials I used to create my cafe were
- foam cardboard
- wood
- wire
- cardboard

Evaluation
Plus
-My design has a mixture of a modern design and aspects of older style designs. The colours used such as the oranges and browns have aspects of the environment and features of the landscape of Riversdale
-My cafe is eco friendly and contains features such as the open roofing allows the cafe to naturally cool and when closed, naturally warm. This feature also allows light to enter reducing the amount of electric lights to be used.

Minus
-The stairs going up the side of the cafe to the rooftop can be quite dangerous and inconvenient for people wanting to carry coffees up there.
- The café could get quite cold because of the wide open doors
